Plans for Australia’s newest theme park precinct have received a huge boost following a nearby $318 million land acquisition by an international developer.

Singapore-based Ho Bee Land Ltd secured the 181ha site in Queensland’s Moreton Bay region with plans to build 1400 homes.

The site in Elimbah, just an hour north of Brisbane, is also 1km away from the proposed Infinity Planet theme park development that is slated to open before the 2032 Olympic Games.

Infinity Planet will include a theme park, hotel, shopping and dining precincts.

Ho Bee Land Ltd, controlled by Singaporean billionaire Chua Thian Poh, is just one of many developers looking to break into Elimbah projects set to transform the region into a global tourist destination.

Development interest in Queensland’s south east as boomed in recent years as Brisbane’s hosting duties for the 2032 Olympic Games draw closer.

The masterplanned community that will be developed by Ho Bee Land Ltd will include homes, schools, green spaces and about 25ha of commercial spaces.

INFINITY PLANET PRECINCT

Ho Bee Land Ltd’s Elimbah project follows news of a $2.6bn Dubai-style entertainment precinct being built just 1km away on the site of a strawberry and macadamia farm.

Infinity Planet will turn the 68ha site into a tourist destination complete with theme park, 700-room hotel and cultural mall.

A development application sitting with Moreton Bay Regional Council would transform the region, with developers hoping to have the park operational before the Brisbane Olympic Games.

Fifty cultural pavilions representing different countries would sit alongside a 9000-seat events venue and a 136,000 sqm retail and dining precinct.

The theme park element of the project would feature roller-coasters and other rides and attract an estimated 1.2 million visitors per year.

The retail and dining precinct would attract an additional 1.8 million visitors, developers say.

While the Infinity Planet plans include about 10,000 car spaces, visitors would be encouraged to utilise public transport to access the precinct.

Developer RHC City also hopes to build a business and technology park alongside the entertainment portion of the precinct.

RHC City chief executive Ramin Ahmadi told The Courier-Mail Infinity Planet would be Australia’s “largest purpose-built integrated entertainment city”.

“We want to present Australia’s culture to the world, and bring the world’s culture to Australia,” he said.

Mr Ahmadi said the construction phase of Infinity Planet would generate more than 1000 jobs while the precinct itself would create in excess of 4600 jobs when fully operational.
